After breakfast, travel by car to Bac Ha Town, 70 kms Northeast of Lao Cai. The ride is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai, pass by rural villages.
Situated in the border area and 20 kms from Bac Ha Town, Can Cau is a small, but very colorful market. Opening only on Saturdays, it always delivers a photogenic display of the Flower H’mong, Nung, Phu La ethnic costumes. The Chinese people also come here for trading.
After spending the whole morning exploring the market, continue to Bac Ha Town for lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, take a walk to Ban Pho Village of Nung and Flower H’mong ethnic communities, which is located in a small valley. The villagers here grow vegetables and fruit farming. One of the most famous fruit of the area is plum.
From here, we visit a local house to taste a cup of corn wine, another famous product of the villager. Then check-in hotel late in the afternoon.

Enjoy morning coffee at hotel then follow the locals to the centre of Bac Ha Town to mingle in the hustle and bustle market of Bac Ha with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as the Flower H’mong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay and Nung who gather to trade or just for meeting after a hard working week.
The whole morning is for exploring the market by strolling around to capture all the daily life of market fair, taste the local products made by tribe hill people, witness the way local do the business, weave their costumes for sale or even their bargain.
Lunch is served at local restaurant with specialty cuisine of the high mountainous area.
After lunch, drive downhill for about half an hour then start a short walk to Trung Do Village of Tay minority. In case the Chay River’s water level is high enough, get on a motor-boat and have a cruise to Bao Nhai, experiencing the picturesque scenes on the river banks. If it is not possible for the cruise, cross the river to visit a Flower Hmong village before walking along the river in around 2 hours to Bao Nhai Bridge, where the vehicle await for the journey back.

The trip is based on the day of arrival/ departure of the night train to/ from Hanoi. Departure time from Sapa should be no later than 8.00.
