Lunch is served at local restaurant along the way before reaching to Thong Nguyen Commue in Ha Giang.
Arrival to Panhou in the afternoon, check in the ecolodge which is located in the heart of the Song Chay mountains adjoining the Yunnan Province of China.
This natural fortress has long been a refuge for many ethnic groups who have escaped from the Middle Kingdom, his persecution and its famines. The balance of the day is on your own leisure to prepare for the tomorrow morning trekking.
Hanoi to Panhou Village: 300km (7 hours)
After breakfast at Panhou restaurant, follow local guide at 9am to explore the nearby mountains through tropical forests and rice terraces.
After three hours walk, make a stop in a Red Dao village of Phin Ho for lunch. Then passed by several viewpoints for terrace rice fields, the beauty of human-made masterpiece! By necessity, they have sculpted some terraces on the mountain side and lead its rivers for growing rice.
These laborious adjustments enable them to live in the heights and offer you a unique landscapes view. The cooler climate and fresh water in abundance also contribute to the growth of lush tea trees.
Continue do the trek for two hours through the magnificent landscapes of the massif to reach another Red Dao village of Khua Ha. On your way, you are discovering the endemic vegetation and could meet the locals and observe them in their daily activities.

Breakfast at homestay by Red Dao in the morning, then trekking along the valley of Suoi Nam though a landscape of terraced rice fields, passing by some farms built on pilar and always closed by the water succeed. The further the trek went, the more magnificent the view got.
The region of Mount Ki Ti Liu Song Chay where rises is populated especially Hmong Hoa Man Ta Pan, Tays, Yao Tunic Long and Nung Inh. Take a rest before heading for an adventure on the next to Nam Ai, where the Long Tunics Dao settles down.
More chance to see the differences between the Red Dao and the Long Tunics Dao as well as enjoy an amazing meal with garden-produced ingredients. At Nam Ai, you will see old tea plant (more than 100 years old) with buds have white hairs, it is called Shan Tuyet tea – a famous tea in Vietnam. And enjoy fresh tea in here. Enjoy specialty dinner done by the Long Tunics Dao and spend the night at traditional homestay of the local family in Nam Ai Village.
Farewell to the Long Tunics Dao hosts after breakfast to continue the trek by following a stream before entering the hilly paths and passing a suspension bridge to reach the Nam Son Valley.
Enjoy the unch with Red Dao family in Nam Son before resuming the walk to one of Ho san hamlets in the heart of Nung territory.
Like most northern mountain populations, the Nung ethnic group arrived from China fleeing famine or persecution in the 18th century. Originating in Khuang Xi and Yunnan, they are part of the Thaie nation and speak the language.
Stay with a Nung family and welcome by their traditional dinner. Overnight at Nung tribe homestay.

After breakfast at homestay of Nung family in Ho San Village, do a hike over a vertiginous landscape of rice paddies sculpt this high mountain region.
Crossing the hamlets of Nung ethnic group on the hiking way. They cultivate the land with family to plant cassava or maize. By the late afternoon, arriving in the beautiful red Zao village of Chien Thang to spend the night.

This morning we start the ascent to Quang Ha pass, crossing a forest where tree ferns, wild orchids and ficus are growing helped by the local climate and the ideal moisture.
At the pass, reach the peak of the trek. In the early afternoon, amazed by finding the stunning landscape of terraced rice fields on the North West side of the Massif.
Check-in homestay of Hmong tribe in Trung Thanh Village. Dinner and overnight with Hmong family in the village.

Admire the pure morning from Trung Thanh a unique landscape and enjoy the breakfast at local homestay. Then begine a descent between rice fields and small mountain forests to join Dan Dien.
You admire the beautiful red flowers erytreas flamboyant. Their roots would have the particularity to give birth to sources.

The trek is ending this morning in Xin Man. A vehicle is waiting fo you to frive to Hoang Su Phi market, which is held every Sunday and is one of the biggest minority peoples market in Northern Vietnam. Alive with the bright colors and extravagant costumes of the local people, here you meet the ethnic minority groups of Flower H’mong, Long Tunics Dao, Nung, Tay, La Chi and Co Lao.
Sometimes you also meet Red Dao, Phu La ethnic groups. Who come from far and wide to buy and sell a wide variety of goods and livestock, to exchange news and renew friendships. The market opens at around 6 a.m and closes mid-day. of the district (you will need to start your trek the sunday before to visit it). You will be on the market Hoang Su Phi in thirty minutes.
It is the gathering of all the people who hosted you or you met on our way, and even more. The Chi, Ha Nhi and Co Lao also frequent this market where you will discover the local products sold as the herbal remedies or the indigo.
The lunch is served along the way in Hoang Su Phi before getting back to Pan Hou Village where you will spend the rest of the day on your leisure. Dinner and overnight at Panhou.
