In the evening enjoy the water puppet show, a unique northern Vietnamese art performance that we cannot be missed on our schedule for today. The show give visitor a chance to learn more about the rural life of Vietnamese peasants and national heroes via a series of history story which were beautifully demonstrated by the artists.
Noi Ba Airport to Hanoi downtown: 30km (45 minutes)
Overnight in Hanoi hotel
Morning breakfast at hotel then start the cycling tour around Hanoi and also visit to some of the highlights of Hanoi; Temple of Literature, Ethnology Museum, and Women Museum. We will have a light lunch at Vietnamese Noodle Soup (Pho) and then ride around the ancient quarter of Hanoi.
After lunch riding outskirt of Hanoi along the dike to Bat Trang pottery village which is very well known for its ceramic art and porcelain for our exploring this Vietnamese traditional craft village. Visiting this site and join with the artist do make your own pot, cup or dish as a good souvenir gift to take home then start to ride back our hotel.
Hanoi to Bat Trang Village: 16km
A new exciting day waiting us to discover, we depart for Ha Long, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Halong Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960 - 2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islands and islets in all sides reflecting on turquoise water. The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments.
7.30-08.10 Depart from Hanoi to Ha Long bay by private car. There are a lot of photo opportunity on our way to Ha Long as we drive through the rural area, street markets, paddy fields, vegetable farms, poultry farms and lotus farms. We take a rest stop after 2 hour drive for a coffee break then continue to Ha Long Bay.
11.30 Upon arrival at Vinashin Tourist Harbor, You are welcomed at our waiting room before enjoying the cruise.
12.15-12.30 Embark on the junk. Enjoy welcome drink as cruise manager gives you a brief overview of the itinerary and important safety guideline. Check in your cabin.
13.00 Start sailing among famous Islets (Indochina studio, Am Islet…) ofBai Tu Long Bay, the wildest beauty with the panoramic natural views. Admire the grace of the bay while enjoying the delicious lunch in the restaurant at the first deck.
14.30 Explore the well-hidden Co Cave (known as Thien Canh Son Cave).
Enjoy relaxing on white sandy beach, walking along the beach or swimming at Hon Co Island.
15.45 Return to the junk. Treasure the wonderful beauty of Bai Tu Long Bay at sunset, admire the striking islands and islets, savor the fresh and peaceful atmosphere which could hardly be found in land while cruising to Cong Do sleeping area.
16.30 Enjoy kayaking at Cong Do or relaxing on the cruise.
18.00 Onboard the vessel, surrounded by a stunning setting in motion, attend our chef’s fruit carving demonstration.
19.15 Dinner is served in the restaurant at the first desk. You can enjoy the charm of Bai Tu Long Bay at night.
21.00 Evening activities: relax at leisure; enjoy our Movie Night, Board Games or our Massage & Spa services (massage and spa fee is not included in the price), squid fishing.
Hanoi to Halong: 200km (4 hours)
Overnight in cruise on Ha Long Bay
After breakfast at hotel, start amazing cycling day tour around to visit this World Heritage Site and our first visit is Hoa Lu ancient capital which was the economic, political and cultual center of Dai Co Viet (The Great Viet, old name of Vietnam), an independent Vietnamese polity founded in 968 AD by the local warlord Dinh Bo Linh who was known as Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang, the first emperor of the Dinh Dynasty. This site consists of two royal temples of the emperors Dinh and Le dedicated to Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Hanh emperors.
Continue the cycling to Bai Dinh Pagoda, a complex of Buddhist temples on Bai Dinh Mountain. The compound included of the original old temple and a newly created larger temple. It is considered the largest complex of Buddhist temples in Vietnam and has become a popular site for Buddhist pilgrimages from across Vietnam.
Cycling from Bai Dinh to the pier for a boat trip to Tam Coc, a picturesque scenery which is known as "Halong on land" or "Dry Halong Bay". The Tam Coc (meaning "three caves") portion is a three-hour excursion by small boat along the Ngo Dong River beginning at the village of Van Lam and proceeding th rough a scenic landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers.
The route includes floating through three natural caves (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long with its ceiling about 2m high above the water. Return to hotel for free at leisure.
Overnight in Ninh Binh
Morning enjoy breakfast at hotel then cycle to Cuc Phuong National Park, Cuc Phuong boasts an engaging cultural and wildlife heritage and enchanting scenery.
Magnificent limestone Mountains rise up majestically from the green rice-terraces and traditional stilt houses of the Muong hill·tribe. Covered in a dense forest, this landscape forms the habitat for some of Asia's rarest animal and plant species.
It is no wonder that researchers, naturalists, enthusiasts and conservationists alike are drawn 10th is corner of the world. The ancient forest harbours over 2234 vascular and non vascular plants, 122 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 135 species mammals, including the Clouded leopard, Delacour's langur, Owston's Civet and Asian Black Bear.
There are also an incredible 336 documented bird species. Visitors in April and May should be blessed with the chance to see literally thousands of vibrant butterflies. On arrival we meet local guide then do 3 hour trekking to in this Park.
Late afternoon drive to Hanoi railway station for night train trip to Sapa.
Early morning get to Lao Cai Railway Station then transfer to Sapa town. Sapa is a hill station resort built during the French in 1880s and a lovely town located at 1600m above the sea level.
Sapa is very famous for hill tribe markets, mountainous and fabulous Hoang Lien Son mountain range in which Fan Si Pan, at a height of 3314 meters above the sea level is considered as the highest peak of Indochina peninsula.
Enjoy breakfast at hotel where we can leave our luggage and refresh before trekking to Ta Van and Lao Chai village.
The short journey will commence with a drive southwards Muong Hoa Valley. You will then start your descending walk into the valley, which is the largest paddy terrace in Sapa area.
The guide can provide you interesting information about rice and rice growing. If the journey to valley on May and October, you will be able to experience how the local do planting and harvesting, one of the most important activities in their daily life.
The walk takes from Lao Chai Village of Black H’mong minority to Ta Van Village of Giay minority hill tribe lives, including a visit to one of the local schools. Enjoy the lunch in a local house.
After lunch the walk continues on a hilly trail through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. On the way, you can make a stop at a waterfall for a rest and photographing.
Once leaving the village, descend to a suspension bridge before ascending to the main road where your vehicle is awaited for your journey back to Sapa.
Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 1 hour driving/ 4 hours walking
Note: One of the most well-known trips in the Sapa valley.
Lao Cai Station to Sapa: 35km (1 hour)
Overnight in Sapa
The last journey in Sapa will be mostly driving downhill towards Lao Cai before taking a left turn into a small paved road leading to Ta Phin Village of Red Dao tribe hill.
Here you can experience the unmixed cultural life of Black H’mong and Red Dao minorities, the two largest ethnic groups in the area living happily together while still maintaining their own traditions.
The two groups, who are both well-known for handicraft, are recognized by their dressing style. Then take a walk around the village and visit one of the local houses.
After that transfer back to Sapa. We also have a chance to visit the border gate between Vietnam and China in Lao Cai City before getting on the train. Dinner is at local restaurant.

Note: Red Dao women will try to sell handicraft at the village so this tour would not be recommended if you prefer “off the bitten track” tours. Good road conditions
Early check in hotel in Hanoi upon your arrival and then free at leisure for the balance of the day.
